I’m quite the enthusiast of Teenage Engineering. That Swedish consumer electronics company that is celebrated for its innovative and stylish designs. Since its inception in 2005, Teenage Engineering rose to fame with the OP-1, a portable synthesizer that effortlessly blends functionality with fun through its unique interface. The company has since broadened its product range to include other musical instruments, such as the EP-133 KO II, a compact yet powerful sampler. This device evokes the charm of samplers from the late ’90s and early 2000s, while incorporating modern features. One similarity it shares with older samplers is its built-in 64MB memory and sample length limit, which can complicate data storage. After converting a large amount of samples using Ableton Live to resample, speed and thus save on file size I came up with the idea to automate the process. After writing a simple shell script to convert a whole folder I thought it’d be cool to have a website that does the job. That’s when the idea for Re:Pitch was born.
After some iterations, lots of issues and learning about WebAudioAPI it was finally finished. I hope that I’m not the only one that has some use out of it.
